Llanto’s conception was a slasher who is both a force of nature that moves unrelenting and an eloquent but manic speaker who just talks at people. He’s influenced by Spanish missionaries, Hellraiser, Resident Evil, Trigun Maximum, and a bit of Ichi the Killer. I originally intended to have him switch masks throughout the comic, but realized it kinda muddied up the flow of it so they were dropped (but hopefully they will show up)

Initially he was gonna speak in garbled squiggles, but I ended up having Valdevia help me write his lines in an archaic, preachy Spanish. For the most part I didn't know myself what he was saying aside from the notes I sent to Ed, and mainly drew the comic as someone who doesn't speak of lick of Spanish <:)

Llanto’s name means crying in Spanish, and it is one of his favorite activities to do.
